Becky's Baby Shower!

Jon, Becky & Guido Markley will be expecting a new little boy, Christian Troy, on April 29th. They are old neighbors from Deer Run! We miss y'all!

Caitlin & I went to together and we had a fantastic time. We sat at a table with a lot of other teachers and we won a lot of the games. I guessed the closest for the number of gumballs in a jar. I guess my math skills are improving after 7 years! HAHA The prize was a lottery ticket! The Best! But, we lost! Caitlin & I had such a fun time together. I really miss her being my neighbor. We never get time to talk when we are with kids so this was such a treat!

Playdate with the Foxes & McGoeys

Friday night was baby Sara's first trip to our house. We had such a fun time. Don't let that yawn fool you...Sara outlasted all of the kids. She is such a happy baby. She is only two months old but she looks much older. Too cute!

"Okay Rose, what do you want to destroy next? They're not even watching us."
"Yeah, all they care about is that new little baby and their "juices". We'll show them!"

Aunt Heather's Shower!

Sunday was Aunt Heather's Bridal Shower. It was a champagne brunch and they were delicious. I definitely had a little buzz! Nola showed up just in time to help Aunt Heather open presents. And that is exactly what she wanted to do. She stood front and center and didn't take her eyes off the prizes screaming "I DO and I HELP YOU and OPEN OPEN!" Thanks for including her Heather!

ANNUAL LSU GUMBO COOKOFF!

Saturday was the annual LSU Alumni association Gumbo Cookoff. The chefs brought their A game this year. Some of the judges made some extras to try to swing the votes. Leah Owen made these TASTY creme de mint chocolates. DELICIOUS! Unfortunately Nana wasn't here to help us make a pot to enter into the competition. Maybe next year!

We had a ridiculous turnout. At least 200 people. Way more than we were expecting, but everyone seemed to have a good time. Unfortunately since we were so busy we didn't really get to try gumbo. Good story though....I met a family, mom, dad, and two kids who were from Port Allen and the dad's job was transfered to NJ a few years ago. The two kids were in middle school and decked out in LSU gear. The family was extremely nice and the kids said they were DEFINITELY going to LSU for college.
They gave me hope!

Tonight she pointed at my shirt, out of the blue, and said "LSU Mommy!" Some kids know the golden arches...ours knows a tiger represents LSU...priceless!

BUSY WEEKEND!

Friday night the Andersens headed to the Smiths for some playtime for all. We got sushi and then put the kids down so we could watch a movie. Within five minutes I was out cold and woke up at the end. What fun! Thanks for the relaxation guys!

Saturday was beautiful so we headed to Morristown for the St. Patrick's Parade! Nola is definitely a pro at parades. She knows to put her hands up and scream!

"HEY!!!!! Throw us some cabbages, carrots, potatoes and onions....COME ON!!!"

"What the heck?! Where's all the cool stuff?"

"Oh well at least I got a sucker and some nerds...

better hide these before mom confiscates them!"

Unfortunately we head to leave the parade, but fortunately we go to go to another PARTY! We had Matt & Kate's engagment party. Jay is co-best man with Keith and Nola is a flowergirl!

Bye Bye Tripp!

Friday Uncle David, Aunt Christy & Tripp came for a weekend visit. Nola was so excited! She waited for him all week and everyday asked "Tripp comin?" We relaxed Friday night and had beer and pizza with the Atwells while the kids played together. We also webcammed with Nana to wish her a happy birthday!

Saturday we took the kids to My Gym in the morning. They both did their own things but loved it all the same! David got some really good pics so we'll upload those when we can.

At the end of class they played Under the Sea while the kids ran around and popped the bubbles. They were so cute!

As always, Nola closed the class with her superb bye bye hands and sang all the words to the song! Someone asked if she was looking for a summer job! HAHA

Saturday afternoon we took the kids into New York City for the day. They rode the ferris wheel at Toys R us (we got the monopoly car) and then Tripp gave Geoffrey a hug on the way out while Nola screamed, "NO GEOFFREY!" Then we walked all the way to Central Park and let them run around. They loved it and it was really great to get them out and they didn't need jackets. Then we walked all the way back to catch the train (with all the drunkies from the Hoboken St. Patrick's Day parade-Tripp was mistaken as a 6yr old 1st grader-LOL) back to New Jersey!

We all passed out by 10 pm-losing the hour for Daylight Savings time didn't help. On Sunday we walked to church and then they packed the car to leave. Before heading out we did a little shopping at Learning Express & grabbed some lunch!

20 MONTHS!

Wow! We can't believe it either! In the last few weeks Nola has definitely transitioned from the baby to toddler stage in a lot of ways. She has all of her teeth except for her I teeth. She talks so much. She has for a while but we can actually understand alot of what she says now. She is speaking in phrases, not really full sentences for the most part yet. Nola can tell us what she wants which really helps. This morning she said banana (the whole word) for the first time. I was so excited but then realized we were out of bananas so Jay took her to the store to get one. Some of her favorite phrases lately are "push the button," "want_____." She still LOVES reading everything, doing her flashcards, listening and dancing to music and watching Mickey Mouse, Little Bear, Imagination Movers, and the Wiggles. Nola you are so funny and we absolutely Love you!
