Time with Tripp!
Two weeks ago, David and Christy took a trip to Mexico and Nana flew to Pittsburgh to watch Tripp. We didn't want them to be alone so they drove over and spent the week with us. Nola and Tripp had so much fun playing together, but they did their share of fighting too. Nana said she hopes she never hears the word, "MINE!" again. They were really cute and when one did something or had something the other wanted just the same. Unfortunately, the rain kept us from swimming but we went to a fair and children's museum while they visited. And I had no camera to document the visit. I'll have to get the pics from Nana! Nola was so sad when Tripp and Nana left but luckily Tripp's birthday party was the next weekend and we were taking a road trip to Pittsburgh for it.
Even though Tripp's birhthday isn't until July 9th, they had his party early so we could attend. Thanks guys! Here is Aunt Kelly (Christy's sister) hanging out with Nola!
After a few presents we all went outside to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine and the kids (including Uncle David) went in the pool!
There were more presents to open! We gave Nola the ride on bulldozer which he LOVED but watch Nola make a made dash to the bulldozer when Tripp isn't looking.
"Yeah Tripp I'll watch this for you....Hurry I gotta hit all the buttons before he gets back...HURRY...HURRY!"
OK THE CAKE!
Some of you may have gotten texts with a picture of this. Jay, Christy, and Kelly created and decorated the cake. Christy found a picture online and then Jay's creative side took over. He was so excited about this cake, he didn't want anyone to touch it. I do have to say it was DELICIOUS! Great job!
Tripp LOVED singing Happy Birthday to himself and blowing out the candles. It was cute!
Sunday, the weather wasn't great so once again we had to skip the wavepool. Awww shucks! So we headed to the zoo instead. Before we left, Tripp said he had to go to the potty and of course Nola said, "I gotta go potty too!" So after Tripp went Nola hopped on and after a few seconds said, "That was a big one!" I checked in the toilet and she POOPED! Yep and it was a big one! Jay wanted to take a picture but I said No...a description is bad enough. And Nola got 2 M&M's !
The Pittsburgh zoo is awesome! It is as big or bigger than the Audobon zoo and there are tons of animals. We had a great time...even though we got stuck in the rain!
In the reptile section, the kids got to touch a bunch of the animals. You know I was right there with the hand sanitizer!
"Alright...let's keep going!"
And this is where my memory card was filled. We saw all the monkey and baby elephants and many other animals. On the way home we stopped at a church/restaurant/microbrewery. The food and beer were good but it felt really weird being there, especially on a Sunday!
Thanks for a GREAT time!
We love y'all and can't wait to hang out again in Virginia this summer!
