Nola's Christening

Here are some pictures of Nola's christening (thanks to my mom), so everyone can stop with the death threats. Just Kidding! We are sorry we haven't been updating as much as we would like but we have a lot going on. Two weekends ago we went to New Orleans for Nola's christening(Nola flew first class), my 10 year high school reunion and Jay went to the LSU/FL game. He owes me big time for that one. HAHA! Then he and his parents came back to New Jersey while Nola and I enjoyed a week of relaxation and good food with my family and friends. We had a great time and were sad to come back. While we were gone Jay worked his butt off to get the bathroom ready in our new house so we could move in. He did an awesome job! We will add pictures soon. We promise. Then Aunt Wendy came up from DC to see LSU lose in 3 overtimes. Nola slept through the whole thing! Sunday, we went apple picking with Aunt Lisa, Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Joni and the gang. It was a lot fun but Nola slept while Jay picked all the apples. This week we have been unpacking boxes a little at a time while Jay works his butt off every night trying to finish the bathroom. Nola and I have been taking walks in the hood. I love my neighborhood. Everyone has Halloween decorations up and there are lots of little kids around.

Nola is doing new things everyday. She wakes up beaming with smiles every morning. I really couldn't have picked a happier kid. While we were in New Orleans she rolled over three times and she makes raspberries with her mouth. The last two days, she seems to have found her voice. She is squealing in a high pitch and it is so cute. We have also put Nola in her exosaucer and she seems to love it. We hope this suffices y'all for now and we promise to try to update more often. :)

Family Ho Down & The BIG Game

After much anticipation on so many levels, Nola finally took her first plane ride to New Orleans to meet many relatives, especially her younger cousin Tripp, and attend her first LSU tailgate.

Nola was such a trooper on the plane(thanks to Baby Tylenol). She slept most of the way and barely cried. Thank goodness because when we landed (after being slammed with the humidity blanket-some things never change)she was swept up in a whirlwind of hugs and kisses. She met her Aunt Christy, Uncle David, and cousin Tripp at the airport. Then,we visited Nanny at work and Aunt Mary at her house, before stopping for lunch at Bud's Broiler. Then we went to Nana's to set up for the fish fry. DELICIOUS!!! SO many people came over to meet Nola and Tripp and we took lots of pics.

After a late night of partying, we packed up ALL the baby gear (for two babies-YIKES!) and headed up to Baton Rouge for the rematch David & I have been waiting 5 years for. We put Nola & Tripp in the Pack n play together and they were so cute in their outfits and playing with each other. They were such troopers, sitting in the heat all day (in the shade of course). It was great catching up with everyone and Nola got to meet Uncle Heath, Aunt Erica, and many more. It's so cool that the next generation of Tiger fans are arriving. Sorry David and Tripp, but in case y'all didn't know the Tigers CRUSHED the Hokies 48-7. Tripp told Nola that he secretly wants to go to LSU (I'm really sorry Dave)! After tailgating all day, we packed ALL the baby gear and headed to the hotel while David, Jay and Mike went to the game. As soon as we got the kids in the AC, they came back to life. We loved hanging out all day but it was really nice watching the game at the hotel in the AC.

Sunday we slept in a little and then packed up to pick up Uncle Mike from his fraternity house and visit Mike the Tiger's cage. Mike VI made his debut for the VT game. He must have been too hot cause he wouldn't move from under the tree, so we enjoyed fresh lemonade and tooks pics. Then, we met G-Momma, Aunt Elizabeth, and Uncle Dominick at Ninfa's (my FAV Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge) before heading back to Nana and Grump's so more family could meet Nola.

Whew! SO much packed in such short time. Typical trip to New Orleans for Jay and I, and Nola seemed to adjust quite well. Thanks to everyone who came to visit. It was a HOOT! We can't wait to come back next month for the christening.

8 Weeks Old & Lagniappe

We have been having a lot of things going on: the closing on our new house, Jay's academy graduation, taking care of Nola, and the first LSU game. We apologize if the pics haven't been coming out as often, but we hope you can understand.

Our house is coming along. We have been going pretty much every night and Jay is just about finished with Nola's room. SO CUTE! The pool is a different story. Brian came over last weekend and they uncovered the pool. It smelled like DEAD BODIES! The whole neighborhod stunk! Needless to say, they ended up draining the pool.

Thursday night we had Jay's graduation. He spent the last two months in a police academy to change his title from corrections officer to sheriff's officer, but he will continue to work in Internet Crimes. The graduation was supposed to start at 7:00 but waited until Nola's feeding time to begin. She started wailing and we had to watch from the kids' section in the back. But it didn't stop us from watching her dad win the Academic Award. Geaux Jay!

After the graduation, we rushed home to watch the LSU game on TV. We TIVOed the beginning so we could put Nola in her cheerleading outfit. She loved rootin' for the Tigers! Check out her wrist rattles!

Upcoming: We are traveling next weekend for Nola's first trip to New Orleans! YEAH! She will meet the rest of her family and also attend the LSU/VT Game in Baton Rouge. She tells me every day how excited she is! She also wants to send a shout out to her cousin Tripp and let him know he's going down with the Hokies!
