Week 23

This week was exciting! We both felt the baby kick or punch from the outside. It must be doing Tae Bo inside. I am just about 6 months and I am definitely starting to slow down, pee more, and when I go up and down the stairs I feel like I've run a marathon. Does this get worse?

Here's what is happening to Baby: (from Babycenter.com)
Your baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. His skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare him for breathing. He can swallow, but he normally won't pass his first stool (called meconium) until after birth. Loud noises heard often in utero — such as your dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze your baby when he hears them outside the womb.

Here's what is happening to me: (from Babycenter.com)
If you dealt with headaches in your first trimester, they might be subsiding now. (Many women have headaches in early pregnancy, thanks to pregnancy hormones, changes in circulation, and/or sinus congestion.)You may notice some mild swelling sometime during your pregnancy, especially in your ankles and feet. It's called edema, and it happens because changes in your blood chemistry cause fluid to shift into your tissue and because your enlarging uterus puts pressure on the veins returning blood from the lower half of your body, slowing circulation in your legs. Edema is often worse at the end of the day and in the summer.

Baby Andersen, I'm not sure if you remember me or not so I'll take this opportunity to refresh your memory. I'm Cristina, I will be your favorite aunt because not only am I the prettiest but I'm the BEST!! I enjoyed spending time with you earlier on in your development and am definitely missing not being there to watch things progress now. Since I'm not there everyday like you are I want you to aggravate your mom as much as possible. I think you can handle it...despite what she says she LOVES every minute of it! Can't wait to finally meet and teach you how to make some of my more well known faces. Love you tons!!
