Nola's 3rd Birthday!

We took Nola to the Bronx Zoo for her actual birthday, despite the 100 degree weather!
"OK guys, let's go to the bird area first!"

Our first stop was time-out. Along with another year older, came more attitude and less listening. Jay told Nola, "You know what happens when you turn 3...another minute gets added to your time-outs." We took 4 time-outs throughout the day, but who's counting?

Some deer!

We were so excited to see Tigers, but we saw only one and he was sleeping.

One of our favorite things was watching the sea lions.
They put on a great show!
Here's Keoni. I think he was the Papa sea lion.
He did a lot of tricks for us and he was really loud!

Jay & Nola watching the show!

Nola LOVES to feed the animals. The goats were eating right out of her hands.
This guy peed and pooped right before he came over to fill up again! Nola would laugh so loud every time they ate from her hand. She said, "It really tickles!"
We also got to see a magic show and Nola got to go on stage to help.

She was sad she didn't get to touch anything, but it was really cute.
On her way back, she tripped! HAHA

After some lunch we headed to the butterfly garden.
This was really cool with butterflies flying all around you.

Here are two getting a drink!

Nola LOVES putting her face in these cut outs!

SMILE!

This was one of my favorites because we got out of the heat a little bit and got to sit down.

Nola loved it too! She kept trying to catch the butterfly, Dora, Diego & Boots!

Some giraffes!

We took a potty and drink break and when Nola and I were coming out of the bathroom she wanted to help open the door and her toe got jammed underneath it. The cut look really deep so we took her to the First Aid room. It wasn't anything more than a small cut and treated by a really sweet old lady who gave Nola 2 stickers and 3 band-aids, requested by the birthday girl.

Close-up of the wound!

If I can't have a Boo-Boo bunny, ice will have to do.

It started getting late and we still had more to do. We went to see an exhibit and when we looked down this is what we saw...

After such a very busy weekend she just couldn't hand anymore. Jay and I took the monorail to see more animals while Nola slept in our arms. Then we took the shuttle back to the car just before closing. We had such a great day at the zoo! Nola woke up on the way home and we surprised her with her favorite meal...MOE'S. Topped off with a family swim in the pool and some cake. I hope you really enjoyed your birthday Nola, we sure did!

WE LOVE YOU!
