First Day at St. Elizabeth's Summer Camp!

Nola will be heading to St. Elizabeth's Montessori School this September. She will go from 8:30 to 3:30 5 days a week. I really wanted start her in January after my maternity leave but they couldn't promise me a spot so we had to start in September. In order to transition the new students, they are required to attend at least 2 weeks of full day summer camp.

I was VERY anxious about her going all day. She didn't know a single person in her class, I didn't know how she was do sleeping, or even what she would be eating at lunch.

Thanks Uncle Mike & Aunt Brandi for my new school bag!

Of course, Nola doesn't look anxious at all!

Thank goodness Jay decided to go with me, because I started crying the minute we pulled out of the driveway. Nola said, "Mom, don't cry. Only babies cry!" I said, "And moms." Her response, "Mom, if you don't stop crying, you will have to go for a diaper change!"

What a big girl! I was still crying!

Her teachers are Sister Josephine & Sister Teresa (Trisable). The majority of the nuns are from the Philippines. They were very sweet with her when they took her in. Although she didn't cry, she still wasn't her normal self. She was kind of like a deer in headlights.

The more I tried to stop crying the more I cried. Thanks Jay for taking these shots! I am blaming my pregnancy hormones for my obnoxiousness and of course I forgot my sunglasses to try to hide myself. Two moms actually came up to me and said, "I was in your position last year. She will be fine!"

We stayed for a few minutes to see how she did.

Look at her little name tag!

They seem to work on fine gross skills to get her ready to use a pencil and discipline. Everything seems very orderly.

I was so upset Jay had to ask the teachers' names.
Nola, I know you will do very well and will learn so many things at St. Elizabeth's.
Mommy & Daddy love you so much!

Update: At the end of day 2 when I picked Nola up I saw her hugging a little girl. At that moment I felt a sense of relief because she had made a friend.

After a week, she felt must feel really comfortable because when I picked her up she was playing chase with another girl rather than getting in line with the rest of the class. When I asked Sister if she hadn't been listening, she responded with "Nola is a good girl, but she does what she wants at times!" Oh great, I have the kid that doesn't listen. We told Sister that if Nola doesn't listen she loses all tv time. Nola, you better shape up!
