6 Weeks Old!

Nola is almost 10 pounds now! She is turning her head to follow things, gives hugs, and eskimo kisses. She is also starting to smile more and even acts like she's trying to talk. Every day she seems to get bigger and bigger!

Nola's Godmother is Here!!

Aunt Cristina came up yesterday to visit for the week. YEAH!! Nola loves her and even farted and pooped on her. We went to dinner tonight and asked Cristina and Keith to be godparents and they said YES!

PS: We are supposed to close on our house tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed!

BBQ at Aunt Caitlin & Uncle Ryan's

Nola went to her second BBQ today. She is practicing for when she goes to New Orleans. Caitlin and Ryan had a lot of people over so my "protective" mother skills kicked in. I think I boxed a few people out. We all had a lot of fun, but JAY had the most. Fatherhood does not stop him from playing flipcup. HAHA!

5 weeks old!

Nola turned 5 weeks today and we have some BIG news...she slept in her own bed the last 3 nights. YEAH!!! Jay set up the pack n play and we also swaddled her arms in. I think that was the trick. We went to Barnes and Noble to buy her a prize. She picked "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" Her eyes have also turned more blue. She is sooooo cute!

First Play Date

Nola had her first play date with John and Kelsie. We went to Sue's house and Nola got to play with 2 3-month olds. They were so cute together!! Thanks Sue, Dina and Terry!

1 MONTH OLD

Wow! Time has been flying by. I swear every day goes by so fast and when Jay asks me what I did all day, I say, "Do you know how long it takes to get the baby ready to go?" It seems like every time we are ready to go, Nola makes her poopy face (see pic) and we have to go back and start over. Although I may get a little frustrated in the moment, I melt every time she looks at me with her big eyes.

Over the last 2 weeks, Grumps made his grand appearance and he took lots of pictures with his Polaroid camera. HAHA! He was really good with her and gave her lots of kisses.

Nana and Grumps left last Sunday and needless to say I cried the whole day. It was so nice having my mom share this experience with me. Thanks Mom! So far this week, Nola and I have still been walking. It is really hot up here right now, but I'm sure it's still not as bad as New Orleans, so I won't complain. Nola & I also took our first trip into Khol's and Target. Both times she started screaming and I've never wanted to get out so fast. :)

Also, if anyone has any advice on how to get a kid to sleep in their own bed we would appreciate it. Nola refuses to sleep in her cradle. She only likes to sleep on her incline in between us. She stretches out her arms so Jay and I can't touch. She is such a princess! It's kind of funny but if we don't fix it we are going to have a 12 year old in our bed. HELP! I might have to call Nanny 911!
