More Fun After the Concert!

After the concert, we swung home for some toys and the pack n play and headed to Aunt Dawn's & Uncle Brian's to visit with Baby Sara, the McGoeys, & the Ekins. The kids always have so much fun together and they are getting to be so funny!"Rose, Can I see that for a second..I PROMISE I'll give it right back!"

"No Nola, I swiped it first...get your own!"

"Okay fine! I'll just go have some pizza with Unlce Rob....YUMMY!"

"Just one more bite...PLEASE..Rose show him the angel eyes and that should work!"

Thanks everyone for a GREAT time. We always have such a fun time together.
We can't wait till pool season!

On the way to the Foxes we stopped at Target to get a new backpack/diaper bag. Some of Nola's milk spilled in the other one and we couldn't get it out. Ya'll know me and smells so it went straight to the garbage. I love the backpack we got, but right next to the adult backpacks, were the kid ones and of course we couldn't pass up the Elmo backpack for $10. We justified it by saying that it was educational and practical and she could use it on the plane so Tippy Toad doesn't get dirty!

Our new backpack...perfect for Mardi Gras!

Nola sporting her new bag!

So, I am signing off tonight to go pack because we are headed to New Orleans tomorrow night for Mardi Gras! We are all so excited. We have been practicing with Nola and can't wait to see how she reacts to everything.

Mommy's New LOVE!

Jay, Nola & I went with Siobhan and the boys to see the Imagination Movers! If you have kids, you DEFINITELY need to watch their show on Disney. They are a group from New Orleans who made it big and they are doing really well.
"Nola you have to drink and eat before the show so you can keep up your energy!
There will be LOTS of dancing and singing!"

This was our first concert. The Hannagans are pros so John showed Nola the ropes.
"What you lookin at Willis?!"

"Oh man, they didn't have my size in the pink t-shirt, but this BLINKY light is soooo cool!"
" Yeah, good thing our parents felt bad, everyone else has a blinky light so I'm glad we got one too....how much do you think they made at $10 a pop?"

Happy Liam...he stole John's Blinky light when he wasn't looking!
The Andersens

The Hannagans

Okay, so here's my confession....I absolutely loved this entire show. I wore my Nola shirt and Jay wore his LSU hat, hoping we would get noticed. NOTHING! But this group had the ENTIRE place dancing and singing the whole time. I begged Jay to see if we could find the "back door" to meet them. He rolled his eyes and said calm down, especially when I told him this was the best concert I had ever been to. I would definitely go see them again! Now we are trying to get tickets the the Wiggles if their tour would ever come out.

Valentine's Week 2009

HAPPY VALENTINE'S WEEK!

Nola celebrated a whole week of valentine's starting on Tuesday when she got a card and $ from her Nana & Grumps!
"Hello Nana! How was your day? Thank you so much for my present. I'm helping my mom cook dinner. Yeah she put me on the broccoli. I have to try to defrost it!. Gotta go. Luv you!"

"Ooh Open! Open!"

"To my favorite Grandaughter, I'll buy you anything you want...even a horsie! Okay, maybe not a horsie, but at least a car!"

"Oh cool!"

Thursday was the mom's club party. Jay was home with Nola and she had a slight fever so we kept her home from the party. I went and dropped off all of her cards and they had a bag waiting for me with Nola's name on it. Too sweet!

Look at all the goodies!

During the week, Nola got a bunch of cards in the mail. She is truly loved by all!

"Thanks Aunt Barbara and Beau for my card and the $. It went straight to the bank as soon as I stopped swinging it around!"

"Awesome! A card from Aunt Wendy..thanks!"

"Yeah G-Momma! Thanks so much! I miss you to pieces and can't wait to see you soon!"

"Thank you Zizi for my card and $ AND for my beautiful kleenex bow you made me! It lasted for most of the night!"

On Valentine's morning..Nola saw a big present bag and went running! My mom always made us feel special on Valentine's Day so I wanted to do the same for Nola. When you buy a few things here and there it doesn't seem like a lot but then you put them all together and you fill a big bag...it's so easy to get carried away. I even found a princess wand I forgot I bought her at Christmas...HAHA!

Nola always gets a book....she loves to read....especially Clifford lately, thanks Aunt Siobhan!

No way, my kid isn't spoiled! How could you deny this face?

Here is a cool lunch tray...Gotta love Target!

Jay & I celebrated our 5th anniversary! I know...WOW...where did the time go? We have both agreed we are in it forever now that we reached this milestone! Most of you know that we follow the traditional presents every year and this year was the wood anniversary! I got a bunch of cool things...an engraved memory box!

Wood roses to add to my collection with the paper, cotton, leather, and fruit ones. He got to pick the colors hence the purple and gold!

I got Jay a money tree..couldn't hurt right?

Also this cool pool art. It's a huge LSU tiger decal that sits on the bottom of the pool and you can remove it when you want to.
I got this cool one cup coffee maker...everyone should have one of these. They are sold at Bed Bath & Beyond...use your 20% discount! Even Jay is drinking coffee now!

Nola gave me this pencil holder for my desk with our family picture!

After opening all of our presents, Nola & headed to the gym where she was going crazy!
"Look Ma, no feet!"

Angel eyes!
I LOVE this picture!

Nola with her friend Kelly!

Nola with one of her teacher's Ms. Laurie

Nola and her famous Bye Bye hands. She really rocks out with the last song of the class. Everyone gets a kick out of her!

When we got home, Nola screamed out Mail! Mail! She's been so excited since there's been something for her every day! Of course, today was no different! Tripp sent her a box full of chocolates with a note that said, I hope your mom let's you have some!
Sorry Tripp, maybe next year! She loved carrying the box around though!

After a long nap, I drove Nola to Grandma & Grandpa's so Jay & I could celebrate our anniversary, just the two of us! Nola had a little table and chairs waiting for her (it was Jay & Keith's old set). Nola is obsessed with table and chairs, tea and dishes right now. She will play with that for hours. Thank you very much for babysitting!

Jay & I headed to Nori for dinner, drinks, and some adult conversation! We had a great time and got a chance to really TALK. It's crazy how much a child changes things...but it is definitely for the better and we are definitely a happy family!

When they brought out our dinner, they had these little blinky lights on the plates...It reminded me of Jay's old Honda!

Mmmmm! It was delicious!

The Ferreiras came for a visit!

FINALLY, after many cancellations due to weather and sickness, we got to meet Katarina Ferreira. Our friends Dana & Alex (who I met when I went to Montclair) came over Saturday night for some homemade Vodka Sauce (made by Jay-DELICIOUS!) and to catch up.

Nola & Katarina got to play for a little while before Nola's bedtime. Nola thinks that babies are just like her baby dolls. She wants to hold and hug them. She runs to the sofa and puts her arms out because she know she has to sit to hold a baby. It is so cute!

SMILE!

Don't I just look perfect with 2 girls! I definitely have the baby itch being around all these little babies lately!

Poor Katarina was partied out by the end of the night and fell asleep in her daddy's arms!

Thank you so much Ferreiras for coming over and hanging out.
We had a great time!
Let's not wait so long for our next get together!

BONUS VIDEO:

Lately Jay has been spinning Nola around by her arms and when he stops she tries to walk and falls. It is hilarious and she LOVES it! Every night she asks one of us to spin her. Well this time Nola wanted to spin her doll and this is what happens. Make sure you pee first!

EARTHQUAKE!

Yep you read that right! OK, quick story...last night, I was sleeping of course, Jay came to bed and I vaguely remember him saying something about an earthquake. I had to have been dreaming! Well this morning I turn on the news and they said, "If you thought you felt an earthquake last night...you were right!" I ran upstairs to check with Jay and he said at about 10:30 pm he felt the whole house shake for 3 seconds. He ran up to see if I felt it. I was out cold! He thought it was a crash at first so he grabbed his gun, of course, and checked out the house. He said, the only other thing it could have been was an earthquake. It was a 3.0! This morning at school the kids were going CRAZY talking about it! So we all experienced our first earthquake but only one of us can remember it!

GEAUX STEELERS!

Sunday night we headed to the Vicaris for their annual superbowl party. Nola was a little shy when we got there but within a few minutes she was all over Joey and Matthew. Walking around calling out for them. I had a flashforward to middle school and freaked out. ALL phones will be turned in before she goes to bed and ABSOLUTELY no computer in the bedroom. Nola will be on lockdown!

Thanks for having such cool toys Aunt Susie!

Hugs & Kisses

My frien Lauren from school was at the party with her 10 month old daughter, Nicki. She was so cute! I am definitely getting the baby itch being around all these cute babies!

Too cute!

Thanks Vicaris for good food and great company! Despite the fact that I didn't win a penny in ANY of the pools I was in, I was a good sport. There is always next year!
At least the Steelers won!
