Time with Tripp!

Two weeks ago, David and Christy took a trip to Mexico and Nana flew to Pittsburgh to watch Tripp. We didn't want them to be alone so they drove over and spent the week with us. Nola and Tripp had so much fun playing together, but they did their share of fighting too. Nana said she hopes she never hears the word, "MINE!" again. They were really cute and when one did something or had something the other wanted just the same. Unfortunately, the rain kept us from swimming but we went to a fair and children's museum while they visited. And I had no camera to document the visit. I'll have to get the pics from Nana! Nola was so sad when Tripp and Nana left but luckily Tripp's birthday party was the next weekend and we were taking a road trip to Pittsburgh for it.

Even though Tripp's birhthday isn't until July 9th, they had his party early so we could attend. Thanks guys! Here is Aunt Kelly (Christy's sister) hanging out with Nola!

Tripp had a bulldozer/construction party and he LOVED opening and playing with all his presents.

"Blah Blah Blah...where's the present?"

"Yep...this is great...let's keep them coming!"

After a few presents we all went outside to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine and the kids (including Uncle David) went in the pool!

"Come on Nola...watch how I do it!"

"See you just sit right down and go...it feels really warm!"

There were more presents to open! We gave Nola the ride on bulldozer which he LOVED but watch Nola make a made dash to the bulldozer when Tripp isn't looking.

"No way Nola...get outta here...this is MINE!"

"OK I'm kinda thirsty...let me get a drink!"

"Yeah Tripp I'll watch this for you....Hurry I gotta hit all the buttons before he gets back...HURRY...HURRY!"

OK THE CAKE!
Some of you may have gotten texts with a picture of this. Jay, Christy, and Kelly created and decorated the cake. Christy found a picture online and then Jay's creative side took over. He was so excited about this cake, he didn't want anyone to touch it. I do have to say it was DELICIOUS! Great job!

Tripp LOVED singing Happy Birthday to himself and blowing out the candles. It was cute!

Sunday, the weather wasn't great so once again we had to skip the wavepool. Awww shucks! So we headed to the zoo instead. Before we left, Tripp said he had to go to the potty and of course Nola said, "I gotta go potty too!" So after Tripp went Nola hopped on and after a few seconds said, "That was a big one!" I checked in the toilet and she POOPED! Yep and it was a big one! Jay wanted to take a picture but I said No...a description is bad enough. And Nola got 2 M&M's !

The Pittsburgh zoo is awesome! It is as big or bigger than the Audobon zoo and there are tons of animals. We had a great time...even though we got stuck in the rain!

"Ewww Tripp! Is that you or the camel?"

In the reptile section, the kids got to touch a bunch of the animals. You know I was right there with the hand sanitizer!

SNAKE

SHEEP

"Alright...let's keep going!"

And this is where my memory card was filled. We saw all the monkey and baby elephants and many other animals. On the way home we stopped at a church/restaurant/microbrewery. The food and beer were good but it felt really weird being there, especially on a Sunday!

Thanks for a GREAT time!
We love y'all and can't wait to hang out again in Virginia this summer!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great Father's day...despite all of the rain. It has rained 18 out of 21 days this month! CRAZY! We met Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Keith & Aunt Heather for IHOP for breakfast. The pancakes were DELICIOUS! Nola enjoyed every bit of hers.

"Hurry up Grandpa! You take too long...you might have a winner inside!"

After breakfast we headed home for Jay to open his presents. He knew we had a couple of surprises for him but not too sure what were going to do. Of course, Nola wanted to jump in and open them for him.

When Tripp visited they both made Father's Day ties for their dads at the children's museum. They decorated them themselves, can't you tell!

Nola was so proud to give her dad his presents. He got an LSU BBQ set and tickets for a Montclair Jackals game, minor league team in NJ. It was supposed to rain, but the weather held out and we had a great time. I forgot the camera so I will have to get the pics from Caitlin. Nola loved everything except the Jackal character, flashback to Sesame Place trip...enough said!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Here is one of his cards...definitely a Jay thing!

Back on the Wagon!

I AM SO SORRY! I have neglected Nola's blog over the last month. I can't believe how many people really read our lives. I've been getting a few comments (not even by family members) and boy do I feel guilty. Our camera charger suddenly disappeared and Jay made me wait a while before we got a new one just in case it showed up. In the meantime, my mother in law let me borrow her camera (thank you) so I did get to capture some events over the last month. I am going to update what I have and back date it!

School is finally out and now I am looking forward to hanging out with Nola and taking a lot of day trips!

We invited Grandma to Nola's second to last gym class!

We all had a great time!

We canceled gym for the summer because we are so busy, but Nola has really progressed a lot over this year and she really made some good friends!
Thank you Mr. Ed, Ms. Nancy, Ms. Tina, and Ms. Lori!
