New Sleeping Tactic

Nola was watching me get ready and she wore herself out. We were singing while I was blow drying my hair and when I looked over this is what I saw. It was too cute not to share.

Down on Grumps' Farm

Nola spent her 1st Thanksgiving at Nana & Grumps' farm in Virginia. We all had so much fun and it seemed like everyone came to see the babies. Nola got to spend time with Nana, Grumps, Uncle Mike, Mamere, Pipaw, Nanny, Honey, G-Momma, Uncle Dominck, Aunt Elizabeth, Aunt Christy, Tripp, Uncle Kevin, Ms. Sharon, and Grammie. The only person we were missing was Uncle David who had to stay in Texas because his men were coming home from Iraq. Nola spent most of her time being passed like a hot potato but she also got to spend a lot of time playing with Tripp. She kept trying to give him a hug but I don't think he likes girl cooties.

Jay got to ride his 4wheeler around, Uncle Dominick shot a deer, I spent lots of time scratching lottery tickets (last shot of hoping to stay at home with Nola), and we ALL played Guitar Hero for Wii. It was soooo much fun!

We cut down our first tree from the farm. Thanks Grumps! We also watched the LSU game together and it was fun till we LOST. I don't think anyone was more heart broken than Jay; he's still crying! HAHA No, but he did write LSU a letter. We'll have to wait and see if Les Miles goes to Michigan and who we get.

We tried to get Nola's christmas picture, so take a look and give me your opinions. I think she LOVED her snowman outfit. What do you think? She even let Tripp borrow it so check his site on www.babysites.com

Nola update: She is talking more and more everyday. She makes an "NG" sound often and blows raspberries constantly. I am working on MAMA. Instead of sucking her thumb, she seems to have found her two fingers. It doesn't matter what hand, but she loves sucking them and occasionally makes herself throw up so we have to watch her. She is also starting to stick out her tongue (Thanks G-Momma!) She eats rice cereal one time a day and she really likes it. I tasted it. GROSS! She is so cuddly and even gives hugs now, but watch out cause she grabs hair tightly and will rip it out. If you've seen her smile, you know how she can make you melt. She flirts with everyone. Jay says she is not leaving the house. HAHA

4 Month Checkup

Nola had her 4 month old checkup yesterday. She is weighing in at 13lbs. 12oz. (Tripp might weigh about 17 lbs.), her length is 24 1/2 in., and her head circumference is 16 1 /4 in. Overall, she is in the 55% and I am very happy with this. Nola is still waking up every morning with BIG smiles. She is soooo cute, Jay and I want to eat her up like crazy. She is also so nosy. If Jay walks into the room and starts talking or if we are having a conversation Nola will stop nursing and try to be part of the conversation. It is hilarious!! She has also started to giggle. Sometimes when we make the silliest faces or talk silly it cracks her up. Jay and I are having so much fun with her. She is starting to come into her personality.

House update: Jay has officially finished the bathroom. It is beautiful! He has been working really hard and decided to reward himself with a new leaf blower and lawn mower. He is such a little kid when it comes to gadgets, but he is having a blast. Nola helped us last weekend with the leaves. FYI, we think we had a BEAR in our backyard yesterday. Yes, there are bears in New Jersey! The pool cover was moved and had a big hole in it. The hose was pulled out as well. Jay went outside with his gun, of course, cause we didn't know what happened at first. Then he called me outside to show me the big dump he left (the bear that is)! We have included pictures as evidence.

The doctor gave us the go ahead to give Nola some rice cereal so we will probably start this weekend. Stay tuned for video!
